I didn’t have any Legos of my own as a kid. This was in part because of my age. Legos weren’t a thing yet when I was little. My brother was four years younger, so he was more in the Lego age sweet spot. He was also a boy.

Lego attempted to market itself as gender-neutral. They even had a famous ad with a girl in it, but the girl was a “tomboy” in scruffy…
