Yesterday, I drove the kid out to Natick and let her take the wheel for a while in a parking lot. “It’s too small!” she said when she saw the lot. There were too many things to bump into. Buildings and whatnot. It’s not, I assured her, you’ll be fine. Just don’t hit the buildings.

It’s not really driving if there aren’t obstacles.
